Our project partner Masaryk University has developed another bioinformatics software tool called SoluProt in their Loschmidt Laboratories research group.
It is a tool for prediction of soluble protein expression in Escherichia coli. Obtaining soluble proteins in sufficient amounts is a recurring limiting factor in various experimental studies as well as in industrial productions. Many valuable protein molecules suffer from poor solubility and their potential can not be therefore fully explored. Computational prediction of protein solubility offers a very attractive possibility for selecting sequences of more soluble proteins from genomic databases for the laboratory experiments.
